Chatteris Museum is entirely run by volunteers.
We have a passion to preserve and promote the history of the town and surrounding villages.
We are currently seeking volunteers for ‘front of house’, Don’t worry, you do not have to be an expert on local history to greet visitors and welcome them to the museum.
Friendly
No prior museum experience is necessary—just a warm personality and some extra time on your hands.
We come from all walks of life, some of us have a vast background in a specialised historical subject or we may have a skill that we can utilise in the museum to enhance the visitor experience.
Whatever you are able to offer, we can all agree that you’ll be volunteering in a friendly, passionate and inspiring setting.

- Greet guests and providing a friendly, informative welcome
- Answer visitor queries and offering information about exhibitions, events, and facilities
